Bombs fell on Iran this morning. The world is reacting. But before you get swept up in the noise, The Daily Acorn is asking the question that matters most — not who’s right and who’s wrong, but who benefits? Shawna Kearsley traces the documented thread of regime change advocates, strategic interests, and the negotiations that were still active when the strikes began. This is accountability thinking for ordinary people living in extraordinary times. Plant this seed today.

The Supreme Court struck down Trump’s tariffs — but the bigger story is what happened inside the conservative bloc. Three factions. One doctrine. Zero agreement. This is accountability in real time.

Jeffrey Epstein is dead. His island is gone. The mansion demolished. Over 3.5 million pages of files finally released.
So why does it feel like the story is just beginning?
In this episode of The Daily Acorn, Shawna Kearsley does what she does best — plants herself in the uncomfortable question and refuses to leave until something grows.
The Epstein files aren’t just about one man. They’re a window into how elite financial networks operate, protect themselves, and — when the pressure gets too hot — rebrand.
Shawna breaks down:
✦ Who the real money behind Epstein was — and how their wealth dwarfed his by billions
✦ Why no major financial co-conspirators have faced criminal charges
✦ What a 2018 email about replacing the United Nations has to do with a 2026 announcement at Davos
✦ How systems of power protect themselves — and what that means for everyday people on the Eastern Shore and beyond
✦ Why sunlight — and civic curiosity — are still the most powerful tools we have
This is not a conspiracy episode. This is a follow the money episode. It’s about systems thinking, accountability, and what it means to be a rigidly curious citizen in a moment when the documents are finally — partially — public.
The acorn is small. But it holds everything the oak tree needs.
Ask the question. Follow the money. Watch what grows.

Yesterday I sat in a room with Maryland Comptroller Brooke Lierman. The presentation was polished. She is composed, credible, and confident. And according to her office — zero major concerns.
But I’ve been following this story since August.
The $236 million Medicaid worksheet error that ran uncorrected across three fiscal years. The cannabis tax report where 38 cents of every dollar vanished into administrative overhead before a single school saw a dime. The education funding promise 67% of Maryland voters approved — quietly buried in the General Fund. The archaic systems inherited from sixteen years of the Franchot administration. And the visible tension between the Comptroller and the Governor that leaves the business community without the clarity it needs to plan.
She is believable. She is not transparent. Those are two very different things.
Today on The Daily Acorn we connect every dot — and ask the questions Maryland’s business community deserves answered.
Today’s Acorn: Believable is not the same as transparent. Polished is not the same as honest. Maryland deserves both.

On February 19, 2026, Donald Trump convened the inaugural meeting of the Board of Peace — a brand-new international organization he chairs for life, backed by the UN Security Council, and already commanding $17 billion in pledges for the reconstruction of Gaza.
Is this the most consequential diplomatic move of the decade? Or a dangerous concentration of power in one person’s hands?
In this episode of The Daily Acorn, Shawna Kearsley breaks it all down — no spin, no shouting, just clarity. We walk through what the Board of Peace actually is, who’s on it, why the Global South showed up while Western allies walked out, and what the $1 billion buy-a-seat membership structure really means.
Then we hold the paradox: because both things are true at once — this could help millions of people who have known nothing but devastation, and it could rewrite the rules of global governance in ways that bypass Congress, sideline the UN, and outlast a single presidency.
What you’ll take away:
— The 5 strongest arguments FOR the Board of Peace
— The 5 most serious reasons to be skeptical
— The one historical comparison that reframes everything
— Specific things to watch in the months ahead
This is world history unfolding in real time. And informed people make better communities.
🌱 Plant your questions. Water them with good information.
The Daily Acorn with Shawna Kearsley — Business. Community. Hope.

Race pimping keeps us looking backward when we should be building forward. It keeps us arguing about whose ancestors suffered more instead of asking what we’re doing about the kids in Somerset County who can’t read at grade level right now. It keeps us performing outrage instead of performing solutions. #RacePimping #MDGovernor #TheDailyAcorn
